 | In His Time |
God has made everything beautiful in His time (Ecclesiastes 3:11).
Joan was admitted to Pondok Indah Hospital (RSPI) for 5 days. She had a lot of slimes that makes her breathing difficult, so the doctor wanted to admit her. From her thorax x-ray, we can see some symptoms. I have to admit, when I brought her to the hospital, I thought about admitting her in. I can't explain why. Her fever seems usual, but she seems very tired. I prayed, so that whatever decision the doctor made, the wisdom came from God.
It was the right time to bring her to the hospital. It was the right day. You have arranged everything, Lord, in Your time.
We were admitted, after thorax x-ray, and Joan immediately got infusion. This is the first time I see Joan with infusion. When Joan was born and hospitalized at ICU, I only waited outside. Initially I want to wait for Irving, but I have to go through this alone. I prayed with my eyes closed, holding Joan's other hand, while the nurse put the infusion on her hand. God, give me the strength to see my daughter lay in the hospital with infusion on her hand. Joan was restless. I slept beside her and hug her. I asked for her things to be brought from home, so she will feel like home. While trying to sooth her and cast away my fear, I told her, "Joan, you really want to check-in at Pondok Indah, don't you?" (Note for non-Indonesian: Pondok Indah is one of the most high-class part of Jakarta). I also played her Sunday School songs on the CD player to we brought from home. Come-on girl, call out to God, ask for your healing. Joan sleep deeply until the next morning.
The doctor visited on the next day. The doctor said, everything is better. But we have to wait until all her infusion is done, which consists of not only normal infusion, but also antibiotics. Joan was also given additional medication for her cough. The second day, Joan had a mild fever. She coughed continuously. We know that the medicine makes her cough, to force her slimes out. But her cough is dry and she can't sleep. That triggers her fever. Joan was given additional medicine for her fever. She slept until almost noon. When the doctor visited again, he decided to stop the cough medicine. Joan seems better afterwards. Praise the Lord.
All her cousins visited her. Played together. Joan was a bit restless because they were loud. But let it be, girl, a lot of people loves you.
Based on Dr Dwi's advice, Joan was consulted to a doctor specialized on asthma. When the doctor examined her, just like other doctor who examined her for the first time, he told us things that we keep hearing, things that are facts but makes us feel down (and our faith down). We keep saying, that's from a medical perspective. Joan can go through all of that until now, 4 years going on 5, all because of grace of God. We just give everything to God, without abandoning medical science. Please bless our effort, Lord.
On her last day at the hospital, I put new clothes for Joan :-) I want her to look beautiful. Thanks, Lord, You've arranged everything. Joan can go home.
When I wrote this, it's been 3 weeks since Joan was hospitalized. Joan never have her seizures anymore. We can't describe our happiness. When she was hospitalized, we don't know that God has arranged a beautiful thing for Joan. We can't deny the fact that it might be the result of the right dosage of medicine from the doctor, or something else in medical terms. But we know it works because we prayed to God. Whatever it is, we thank the Lord. Just when we feared the worst, You always give the best.
Joan my daughter, Mama and Papa are really happy. Joan doesn’t have seizures anymore. And you look very developed, looking around right and left. You always give your sweetest smile for Mama and Papa. Thanks Lord!
Joan, please don't forget, that your life is a life full of blessings and grace. Don't forget to give it back to Him. Mama and Papa have faith, that everything will be perfect for Joan, Mama and Papa. IN HIS TIME.
GOD BLESS YOU.
