Quentin Tarantino is geniusly crazy
The Kill Bill director directed yet another amazing piece of art with Inglourious Basterds. Taking the title from the name of a team (or “gang”) of military men with sole objective of killing as many German soldiers as possible with sadistic ways, the movie tells the story of Jews massacre in Germany, espionage intrigue and sabotage, Germany weakened condition in the end of World Word II, betrayals, etc.
This movie shows Quentin Tarantino’s signatures from the very beginning, from the music choices, picture framing, mixed of fun and serious scenes, and the unpredictability of the story ending. Don’t be fooled by the choice of World Word II settings: the movie ending is totally different than real history.
Even though this movie sells Brad Pitt’s name, his part as Lt. Aldo Raine in this movie is not really big, and not really excellent. The star performers are the 2 main artists in this movie: Melanie Laurent as Shosanna Dreyfus and Christoph Waltz as Col. Hans Landa. The emotional battle between these two characters are the one who make this movie alive from start to end.
This movie is really really recommended. We even plan to buy the DVD for our collection.
