Kompas ePaper Alpha test Linux version

For Linux users that all this time cannot access Kompas ePaper, the developer team has come up with an Alpha version that runs on Moonlight. In other word, this ePaper can run on Linux. We need help from all of you Linux users to test this Alpha version and give feedbacks if you find any issues.

Here are the steps that you need to do:

Install the latest version of Moonlight, Moonlight 2.0 Preview (in Firefox you will see Moonlight version 1.99.x). This ePaper cannot work on Moonlight 1.0.
Test this Kompas ePaper Linux version and take note on any problems or issues that you find. Note: it’s using an old edition of Kompas (16 June 2009), so don’t be surprised with the old news
You can discuss the issues or problems in this blog comments or on the developer’s blog. You can also discuss in your mailing list, but I only monitor these: id-php, ilmukomputer, phpug, telematika, ilmukomputer-networking, apwkomitel, and asosiasi-warnet. Please CC me when you’re discussing in other mailing lists. I will summarize all your feedback and forward it to the developer team.

When sending any issues, problems, or success stories please don’t forget to put the version of your Linux, browser, Moonlight and if possible, Mono. I have tried this myself using Ubuntu 9.04 and OpenSUSE 11.1 with Mozilla Firefox 3.0.4 and Moonlight 1.99.3. OpenSUSE experience is very stable and much faster, while in Ubuntu it is a bit stuttered, especially when I’m turning a page.
