Windows 7 General Availability: October 22, 2009

Maybe this is old news for a lot of people, but sometimes I’m still asked when Windows 7 will be released. So, to answer the question: Windows 7 will be available to the general public (General Availability) on October 22, 2009.

Windows 7 will reached RTM phase (Released to Manufacturing) around second half of July 2009. This means, the final version of Windows 7 will be available around that time and will start the CD/DVD manufacturing process, distribution to all partners and channels, until October 22, 2009, when Windows 7 will be available to general public.
