I start my day early. I woke up at 5am and went to the airport, because I take 7.20am flight. After queuing for Sriwijaya check-in, queuing for exit tax exemption, queuing for airport tax and queuing for immigration, I went to the only airport lounge in International section of Polonia, for breakfast. Sriwjaya usually give food in flight, but usually it is bread, while I need to take rice
I arrived in Penang around 9am, and went to YMCA because my parents already waiting there. I go across the street to Island Hospital to make appointment with Dr TJ Wong and Dr Hsieh Wen Son. Dr TJ is immediately available, so I ask my parent to join me. The doctor read my father’s lab result. Liver and kidney function are normal, so there are no side-effect from the chemotherapy medicine (Xeloda). But the cancer market (CA) is a bit above normal, so Dr TJ told us to check with Dr Hsieh.
We have appointment with Dr Hsieh at 2.30pm, so we first have our lunch at the hospital canteen. We have a lot of discussion with Dr Hsieh, especially about the side-effects to my father’s palms and feet, which become dry and blackened. He said that it is one of the expected side effects. To reduce the intensity, he changed the medicine intake cycle. Usually the cycle is 2 weeks of medicine intake and 1 week medicine-free. Now he add another week to the medicine-free period. If the side effects still getting worse, he will reduce the dosage. To help with the dryness, he proposed to use lotion or skin moisturizers. About the CA result, he said not to worry, because the number will fluctuate during medication.
After getting back to YMCA, we all took rest. Especially me
When I woke up, it’s already 8.30 and we have to have our dinner at the hotel restaurant. And now I have to go to bed again, because we need to go the airport by 8am, to catch our Sriwijaya 9.50am flight to Medan.
